Slocum-Dickson’s Urgent Care

Where a physician is always onsite!

Delivering prompt, personalized medical care with a single-problem focus for individuals over 2 years of age for minor (non life-threatening) health problems such as sprains, broken bones, cuts, backaches, job-related injuries, and common illnesses.

We maintain a full professional staff throughout our extended schedule supported by Slocum-Dickson’s full complement of diagnostic and treatment resources available on-site, including lab, x-ray, and physical therapy.

Urgent Care is located at the rear entrance of Slocum-Dickson’s Burrstone Road campus in New Hartford. Our skilled Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, or Physician Assistants will offer you the expert, personal care you need. We accept online check-in patients and walk-in patients if the schedule allows. It’s highly recommended to use online check-in to reserve an estimated time spot in our virtual queue when you need to visit Urgent Care. Text messages will be sent to notify you of your place in line before your estimated scheduled visit, and text messages will inform you when you should arrive, thus allowing you to wait comfortably at home, and decreasing your time in the waiting room.

The Urgent Care hours are the same as the hours of the Laboratory and similar to Radiology.  CT Scans are available until 6 pm and Ultrasounds are available until 4:30 pm Monday – Friday. CT Scans and Ultrasounds are not available on weekends. Please note, CT Scans have an insurance authorization requirement and are pending insurance approval.

Routine Physicals by appointment only, call Employer services (315) 798-1758.

We’re happy to conduct physicals for summer camp, sports, college entrance, pre-employment, DOT, life insurance, and other routine matters.

Once you check-in online, you will receive text messages regarding your estimated time spot, any changes, and when you should arrive.

COVID-19 is still a healthcare issue, no longer a Pandemic. Symptomatic individuals who have various signs of COVID-19 (e.g., shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fever, cough, sore throat, headache, muscle pain, etc.) will be tested for COVID-19 and a viral respiratory panel while in Urgent Care. If you test positive at home for COVID-19 please contact your family doctor for further treatment and or evaluation. Patients who have a negative rapid test will then have a second test called a PCR done in our laboratory using the same swabs to confirm the negative COVID-19 results.

We remain committed to keeping our well patients safe! All patients with symptoms suspicious for COVID-19 will be escorted directly to exam rooms and will not sit in the waiting room. Special cleaning, air purification, and decontamination time for rooms between patients will decrease risks as much as possible.

If your have signs or symptoms of COVID-19, please call your primary care physician’s office for further information and instructions.
