Physical Therapy Aide

Physical Therapy Aide – Appropriately greets and rooms all Rehabilitation patients.  Provides equipment for set up of patient treatment and checks patients throughout treatments.  Provides follow-up to therapists and assistants as needed.  Responsible for various duties involved in maintaining a neat and clean environment within the physical therapy department.  Ensures daily that the department’s linen and supply needs are met.  Maintains all supplies of the department.  Performs other related duties as requested by the Rehabilitation Director.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Cleans and maintains department in orderly fashion.  Supplies department with linen and other supply needs daily.  Prepares patient set-up and helps physical therapists on various treatment programs. Re-orders all department supplies.  Answers phones, schedules patients, does copying and filing, and performs other receptionist duties as needed.  Performs other related duties as required by the department.  Must complete OSHA training requirements initially at orientation and annually thereafter.

RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS:          Direct contact with patients both in person and over the phone.  Must maintain a courteous and effective relationship with patients of the Group.  Patient accommodation and satisfaction is critical.  Must maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers, staff, physicians and administration.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE: High school diploma with ability to work with the public.  Must perform assigned tasks in an efficient and timely manner.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Lifting:            Must be able to lift 20 lbs. infrequently.

Standing:         Must be able to stand and walk as needed to assist patient treatment set up and clean up.

Sitting:            Limited ability to sit required.
