Our department is equipped with an ADL (activities of daily living) room to assist with your return to functional independence. It offers a comprehensive evaluation of activities of daily living and can provide training to improve safety and optimize independence at home or in the work place.

Our Pain Management Program is designed to optimize pain relief through the use of modalities, exercises and functional activities in order to improve independence and quality of life.

The Lymphedema Program at Slocum Dickson allows patients with chronic or acute edema (swelling) of the limbs or other body parts due to illnesses such as cancer, injuries, and birth abnormalities gain control of their condition. This specialized program with a certified therapist was created to provide effective and compassionate treatment for people affected by this condition. Our approach focuses on reducing swelling and restoring confidence and function in daily living.

Low Vision is a visual impairment not correctable by standard glasses, contact lenses, medicine, or surgery that interferes with a person’s ability to perform everyday activities. Our Occupational Therapy department offers services for individuals with low vision impairment such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataract, or diabetic retinopathy. Our goal is to provide ADL training to improve safety, and optimize independence at home due to low vision deficits through patient education, adaptive strategies and adaptive devices. |
